Apartments Domaine Waegell are located in the winemaker’s house in the village but have a separate private entrance. Situated midway between Colmar and Strasbourg this is a perfect base for exploring the vineyards, countryside and villages of Alsace – or popping across the Rhine to the Black Forest! Nothalten is home to the Grand Cru Muenchberg wines.Both gites can accommodate up to 4 people. Gîtes Chez Le Vigneron offers comfortable and well-equipped en-suite accommodation with kitchen and garden space.

winewaegell_winesWines here are typically Alsatian – mainly dry white (Riesling, Gewuztraminer), some sweeter late harvest whites, rosé and sparkling (Crémant) and a little red Pinot Noir.

Alsace is situated in North East France. It is bordered by the Vosges mountains to the west and to the East by the river Rhine which is the border with Germany.

Alsace had a turbulent history between Franee and Germany. The region is at the centre of Europe. Strasbourg, the capital city of Alsace, hosts the European Parliament.

Alsace is a region with green hills and medieval villages. The Alsace wine route (route des vins) is one of the most scenic in France.
