A traditional 19th century wine estate, Chateau Canet is today recognised as one of the leading domaines of the Minervois region – in the middle of the ‘Pays Cathare’ (with its rich medieval history) and just east of the fabulous city of Carcassonne and north of the Canal du Midi.
The domaine’s original winemaker’s cottages have been converted into 9 luxury holiday cottages and a reception hall for gatherings with friends and family, for special events, intimate weddings etc.
The cottages/gîtes are all independent and self-contained, sleeping between 2 and 10 people. The domaine also offers a heated pool and tennis court.
The Chateau produces red, white and rosé wines.” Chateau Canet Minervois Rouge has elegant blackberry, cherry and blackcurrant aromas with a floral, violet note and a savoury bacon fat element typical of Syrah. At first the sweet, dark, berry fruit dominates the palate, but spice flavours and ripe, velvety tannins step forward to add complex appeal.
