Chateau Capion Self-catering Chateau Capion in Aniane (34 Hérault, Occitanie), a famous wine village./apartments on a Languedoc wine estate –
There are a variety of apartments here in the Chateau, tastefully appointed and en-suite most with dining area, terrace and a kitchenette. The apartments feature free WiFi. Sleeping 2-4 people in apartments or suites.
The stylish chateau is surrounded by the Chateau’s splendid gardens and by vineyards.
The village of Aniane is well-known for producing some of the best wines in the Languedoc including the Mas de Daumas Gassac.
The Chateau is just 20 miles from the Mediterranean coast and not far from the medieval village of St. Guilhem le Desert
There are almost 48 hectares of vines, mostly of the regional classics: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault for the reds/rosés and Viognier, Chardonnay, Roussanne for the whites. Andrew Jefford in his book “The New France” praises Chateau Capion wines, especially the Syrah-Grenache blend of Le Juge! In my view they are typical of the modern style of excellent wines from the hot, sunny south of France.
There is a wine festival in the village every July!
