wineThe area of Muscadet only produces white wines mainly from the Melon de Bourgogne grapes – and the wines are dry and crisp – excellent with the local seafood! In the past these wines have been criticised as being too thin and sharp. but techniques have improved and today many wines classified as Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie are richer and smoother.

The nearby city of Nantes is the birthplace of Jules Verne and has a rich heritage of churches and museums.  There are many innovative modern art installations along the riverside with the Voyage à Nantes Trail.
