A stone’s throw from the Canal du Midi and just 30km from Carcassonne (11 Aude, Occitanie), the Wine Hotel Chateau de la Redorte has been entirely renovated.

This recently renovated 18th Century chateau is surrounded by Minervois vineyards. The hotel also offers self-catering gites and suites/apartments, both in the Chateau itself and in the renovated outbuildings.

The hotel features an outdoor swimming  pool surrounded by pine and olive trees. There is also the Vineyard Spa.

There is also an on-site restaurant offering traditional cuisine and a boutique with a range of regional delicacies, such as  olives, olive oils and tapenades.

Just a short walk away is  the pretty village of La Redorte whilst the Mediterranean beaches are only 50 km away.

The Chateau used to produce wine, but now its Wine Tunnel that used to connect the Chateau to the vineyards, has been converted into a wine-tasting cellar-bar, brimming with delicious wines from top local wine makers. Wine tasting sessions with local experts will take you on a tour of the Languedoc region – delicious Minervois and Corbières reds, crisp Picpouls and honeyed Viognier whites, refreshing rosés and the bubbly delights of Crémant and Blanquette de Limoux. Regular wine-themed events are organised throughout the year – from vineyard tours to interesting talks about wine.

This is France’s most exciting wine region, punctuated by romantic Cathar castle ruins and stunning medieval churches, such as the abbeys of Fontfroide and Lagrasse.

La Redorte lies on the road between Carcassonne and Beziers.

Also nearby is one of our favourite Minervois producers – Chateau Gibalaux-Bonnet at Laure-Minervois – try their Cuvée Prieuré!
