In SouthWest France in the heart of the C\u00f4tes de Duras<\/strong> vineyards (47 Lot-et-Garonne, Nouvelle Aquitaine<\/span><\/em>) is a vineyard gite<\/em> sleeping up to 6 people: Domaine de Dame Bertrande<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cottage backs onto the chai<\/em> (wine store) and looks out over a small quiet valley where some of the best parcels of vines grow. It is a magical place, and very tranquil, the nearest visible neighbours being at least two kilometres away.With 3 bedrooms, bathroom, well-equipped kitchen and a terrace surrounded by vines. There is  a large dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting room with stairs leading to the three bedrooms on the upper floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vineyard is one of the oldest in the region, albeit with modern ideas and techniques. The vineyard has enjoyed organic status<\/strong> since 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vineyard produces some excellent C\u00f4tes de Duras AC, especially the crisp dry white Sauvignon Blanc, as well as a whole range of red, white and ros\u00e9 wines.The reds tend to be based on the Bordeaux mix – Cabernets and Merlots but with a distinctive style of its own!<\/span><\/em>

<\/a>The popular village of Duras is worth visiting with its Chateau, whilst Bergerac<\/strong>, St Emilion<\/strong> and Bordeaux<\/strong> are within reach. In Duras<\/strong> there is a Maison des Vignerons<\/em><\/a> where you can taste, buy and learn about these under-rated wines. There is also a good hotel\/restaurant in the Hostellerie des Ducs<\/a> where the food has been very good on numerous occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
