In the Minervois wine region of the Languedoc (11 Aude, Occitanie<\/span><\/em>) Graham and Beatrice Nutter run the splendid Chateau St Jacques d’Albas<\/a> <\/strong>in Laure-Minervois<\/strong><\/strong> north east of Carcassonne<\/strong> and offer 2 g\u00eetes (self-catering cottages ) on the estate for 4-6 people with an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and vineyard!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The <\/em>Chateau St Jacques d\u2019Albas<\/a> <\/strong>is an emerging quality domaine in the <\/em>Minervois<\/strong>, Languedoc, Southern France which is surrounded by history from Roman times, the 13th Century Cathar religious movement and Saint Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimages. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

The domaine has been producing award-winning Minervois AOC wines since 2001, since when the owners have embarked on a programme to re-invigorate the soil, reduce yields and vinify on-site. The domaine now has  a public tasting area, as well as a music\/seminar room for entertainment and wine-tourism. There are 3 self-catering flats on the estate, offering accommodation for 4-6 people. If you are looking for peace and quiet and a relaxing holiday, far from the mass tourism, you will appreciate this beautiful region with its hills and valleys, its intense quality of light and wide variety of places to visit.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chateau is in Laure-Minervois<\/strong> (11 Aude, Occitanie<\/span><\/em>) which is also where one of our preferred wine producers is located – Chateau Gibalaux-Bonnet<\/a><\/strong> where brothers Didier and Olivier produce good Minervois wines and vins de pays – the red Minervois Cuv\u00e9e Prieur\u00e9 is excellent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The domaine produces red Minervois wines from Syrah and Grenache grapes and some red and white Vin de Pays d\u2019Oc wines from the typical Languedoc terrain and climate \u2013 an area which\u00a0<\/em>Clive Coates MW<\/strong>\u00a0describes as \u201done of the most rewarding areas in the Midi for inexpensive but interesting wines\u201d.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
