In southern Burgundy near M\u00e2con<\/strong> and Cluny<\/strong> is a vineyard Burgundy B&B at Chateau de Pierreclos<\/a> in Pierreclos<\/strong> (71 Sa\u00f4ne et Loire, BFC<\/span><\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located just a 20-minute drive from\u00a0M\u00e2con<\/strong>, the\u00a0Ch\u00e2teau de Pierreclos<\/a>\u00a0is surrounded by vineyards. The Chateau is a masterpiece of medieval architecture, brimming with 9 centuries of history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 1989, the castle has been owned by the Pidault family. It is one of the most beautiful private historic buildings in Burgundy.  Here Anne-Fran\u00e7oise and Jean-Marie Pidault welcome you to their five bed and breakfast rooms. The Chateau offers views overlooking the terraced gardens and the vineyards and free wine tasting sessions. Just a 15-minute drive away is the Solutr\u00e9<\/strong> Rock,a limestone escarpment 5 miles\/8 km  west of M\u00e2con<\/strong> overlooking the commune of Solutr\u00e9-Pouilly. Each of the ensuite rooms is decorated in a modern style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chateau produces the fine wines of southern Burgundy – which includes Bourgogne (red), Macon Pierreclos, Pouilly-Fuiss\u00e9 and Saint Veran whites – reds based on Pinot Noir, whites on Chardonnay. They also produce a sparkling Cr\u00e9mant de Bourgogne<\/em>. Your hosts can offer a visit to the wine cellar and tutored wine tastings. This area lies between Burgundy and Beaujolais and the wines can often be great value for money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ch\u00e2teau de Pierreclos is a private historic monument located between the <\/em>Abbey of Cluny<\/strong> and the emblematic national site at <\/em>Solutr\u00e9<\/strong>. Set among the vineyards on a rocky spur, a chapel was first built there that became a parish church in 996. The ch\u00e2teau appears in texts from 1282 when the lord promised his ch\u00e2teau to the Duke of Burgundy. It is a strong-hold that has gone through wars, the French revolution and was transformed over time into an ornamental ch\u00e2teau.
