In the wine village of\u00a0\u00a0Chavot-Courcourt<\/strong> (51 Marne, Grand Est<\/em>) you can stay in a self-catering Champagne g\u00eete (cottage<\/em>) amongst the vines of Champagne, – Gite du Clos Pommier<\/a> – just 3 miles\/4 km from Epernay, <\/strong>the\u00a0capital of Champagne, where you can visit the most prestigious Grandes Maisons<\/em> of Champagne and many smaller independent wine makers to taste, learn and buy.<\/p>\n\n\n

In the valley of the Marne, this independent gite is in a modern cottage at the foot of a hill below the old Church. 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 7 people (with the extra sofa bed), a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area and lounge space .There is also a bathroom with shower, and free wifi! From the terrace there are views over the garden, vineyards and the pretty village of Chavot-Courcourt.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

There are more than half-a-dozen Champagne producers and a Cave Cooperative<\/em> in the village, the nearest being Champagne Jean Pernet<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Champagne houses of Georges Cartier, <\/span>Mo\u00ebt et Chandon, <\/span>Pol Roger, <\/span>Andr\u00e9 Berg\u00e8re<\/a> and de <\/span>Castellane are all within 3-4 miles of the gite. There is a restaurant and an auberge<\/em> within 1\u00bd km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chavot-Courcourt<\/strong> is located in the Champagne subregion of the  Vall\u00e9e de la Marne \/ C\u00f4teaux Sud d\u2019\u00c9pernay<\/em> – one of the 17 areas \u201cterroirs\u201d<\/em> into which the Champagne wine region is divided (see maisons-champagne.com<\/a>) and is an area where the Pinot Meunier grape is predominant, although Chardonnay, and and a small proportion of Pinot Noir is also grown. There are few Grand Cru vineyards in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
