Near Gaillac\u00a0 at\u00a0Castelnau de Montmiral<\/strong> (81 Tarn, Occitanie<\/span><\/em>) is a Gaillac B&B at\u00a0Chateau de \u00adMayragues<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0– a 12th Century medieval castle with a Bio-dynamic vineyard!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The chateau was painstakingly restored by \u00adowners Scotsman Alan Geddes and his French wife Laurence and developed the vineyard.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The chateau has a half-timbered open-air walkway running around the top floor. parquet floors and high ceilings make for an airy and spacious feel . The location is quiet but the hosts are very welcoming. En-suite bathrooms and free wifi!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Gaillac is one of the lesser-known wines of the South West and is notable for its distinctive local grape varieties such as Braucol and Mauzac<\/em>.The Chateau produces Gaillac wines –\u00a0 a medium\/sweet white Gaillac Doux<\/em>,\u00a0 Gaillac<\/em> reds and a sparkling white Gaillac Brut.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Biodynamic wines<\/strong>\u00a0are made by using biodynamic\u00a0methods both in growing the grapes and during their vinification into wine. . Biodynamic .wine production uses\u00a0organic farming\u00a0methods \u00a0while also employing soil supplements prepared according to the formulas of\u00a0\u00a0Rudolf Steiner,\u00a0 and following a planting calendar that depends upon astronomical calculations\u00a0and having respect for the soil\u00a0 as “a\u00a0living and receptive<\/em>\u00a0organism. – see Gaillac Wines<\/a> We would recommend the wines of\u00a0Domaine de Labarthe<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0Castanet<\/strong>.<\/em><\/span><\/em> At Chateau de Mayragues the wine is organic,<\/span><\/em><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
