La Citadelle de Blaye – Hotel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At\u00a0Blaye<\/strong>\u00a0(33 Gironde,\u00a0Nouvelle Aquitaine<\/span><\/em>) there is a UNESCO <\/strong>listed 17th<\/sup> century Citadelle built by Vauban which also houses a hotel within the ramparts \u2013\u00a0<\/a>Logis Hotel de la Citadelle<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The hotel and Citadelle<\/a> are within the town of Blaye <\/strong>and offers views across the Garonne estuary to the Medoc<\/strong>. There is also a ferry across the river (vehicle and pedestrian).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April there is a wine festival <\/a> within the walls of the Citadelle where local winemakers (Cotes de Bordeaux) offer tastings of their wines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel offers 21 comfortable rooms, private parking and a swimming pool,. And there is also a lovely terrace, a bar and a panoramic restaurant overlooking the Gironde estuary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross the river and you can explore the wines of the Medoc <\/strong>or venture north into Cognac <\/strong>country<\/p>\n\n\n\n
