H\u00f4tellerie Beau Rivage. Condrieu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The village of Condrieu<\/strong> lies on a wide curve of the River Rh\u00f4ne and it is this special position which helps to produce some of the most highly prized white wines from the Viognier<\/strong> grape, a rich intensely fruity. aromatic, yet often dry and “unctuous”. This is the only white wine of the northern Rh\u00f4ne – and many say that it reaches near-perfection in the vineyards of Chateau Grillet<\/strong><\/a> in nearby Verin<\/strong>. (Chateau Grillet is the smallest AOC in the Rh\u00f4ne Valley(3.5 hectares).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vineyards here are quite small compared to the extensive vineyards of the southern Rh\u00f4ne, limited by the steep valley sides of the River and its ravines. Situated south of the city of Vienne <\/strong>(38 Is\u00e8re, ARA<\/span><\/em>) the appellation C\u00f5te Rotie <\/strong>which is said to produce the best red Syrah wines, whilst the other appellations of the northern Rh\u00f4ne are further to the south around Tournon<\/strong> (07 Ard\u00e9che, Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
