Château Smith Haut Lafitte – Graves Grand Cru Classé
Located amongst Grand Cru Classé vineyards in the Pessac-Leognan (Graves) district of Bordeaux the Château Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the most prestigious chateaux of Bordeaux, and yet it is grapes from these vineyards that form the basis of the wine treatments in the spa – you do not actually bathe in wine, but in preparations which use the extract of the grapes! The wines here are mainly red, grown on gravel and a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
The hotel is at Martillac (33 Gironde, Nouvelle Aquitaine) about 10 miles south of Bordeaux city.
