B&B at one of Saint Emilion’s top wine chateaux – Chateau de Troplong Mondot – where the wines are classified as “Premiere Grand Cru Classé“.
Set in the heart of Troplong Mondot Chateau’s vineyards, Les Clefs de Troplong Mondot is located on the Butte de Mondot in north east of Saint-Emilion.The 19th-century château, is the perfect rural retreat, situated within a wine estate of 36-hectares of vines and grounds. Perched on top of the Mondot hill, Château Troplong Mondot is the highest estate in the area, offering incredible views of the UNESCO world heritage site of Saint-Émilion. The chateau’s eight guestrooms (sleeping up to 4 people) sum up the area’s rich, slow lifestyle: the vineyard, the art studio, the belltower. Beautiful country house in the vineyards, with rooms in the Art studio – all well appointed and spacious with lovely decor.
The wines are made from 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Franc; with vines that are on average 35 years old. The wine is matured in 75% new oak barrels for between 12 and 24 months.
