Near Lussac (33 Gironde, Nouvelle Aquitaine) just 10 minutes northeast from St Emilion in the heart of the Lussac Saint Emilion wine appellation you will find the family-owned wine chateau Château La Grande Clotte, where owners andwinemakers Julie and Mathieu look forward to welcoming you and offering a unique wine experience.

Accommodation: The Bedrooms are located between the main house and the winery. Totally independent, you can come and go through an outside access overlooking the garden and vines!

Rooms offer 40 square meters of comfort and serenity: the lounge area directly overlooks the beauty of the vineyard, while the bathroom has a shower and a bathtub. Double and Triple rooms with private bathroom are offered , with aircon* and free wifi

After spending a restful night in one of the guest rooms, you can enjoy a breakfast prepared with homemade and local products.

And for those who want to become an oenologist for a day, you can even take a wine tasting and blending workshop , so you can leave with the bottle you have created!

In the Lussac-Saint-Émilion appellation, one of the satellites of the main Saint Émilion appellation, the chateau produces red and white Bordeaux wines.

The red is 100% Merlot from a single plot located on a beautiful clay-limestone terroir of the Lussac Saint-Emilion appellation. On the 1 hectare of old vines selected for the production of this high-end cuvée “l’Envolée“, every care is taken: leaf thinning, green harvesting, manual harvesting, triage on the sorting table, full fermentation in new barrels and aging for more than 16 months. This cuvée reflects the perfect balance between power, depth, complexity, and sweetness

The white cuvée represents just 10% of the production and is made from Sauvignon blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle grapes. Powerful and complex, Château La Grande Clotte white will be enjoyed with cheese. This wine is for laying down and can wait patiently for 6 to 8 years in the right conditions.

The Chateau’s wine has been awarded 2 stars “un vin remarquable” in the Guide Hachette des Vins de France

Discover the vineyard. After a presentation, you can taste different wines: a white wine and several vintages of Lussac-Saint-Emilion.

Julie and Mathieu, the young winemakers have put together a bike tour for you to meet local producers. On board your electric bikes and equipped with your picnic basket, you can crisscross the paths of the beautiful Saint-Emilion countryside! As you meet people, you will be able to fill your basket with the best products of the region (cheeses and charcuterie, chocolates, macaroons, etc.)

The Chateau also offers a BLENDING WORKSHOP

After having visited the vineyard and discovered the winery, Julie the owner will let you taste the different vintages produced on the estate. She will teach you to understand the different grape varieties and combine them until the ideal alliance. Finally you will leave with the bottle that you have created.
