This area, where vines have been cultivated since Roman times, covers thousands of acres of vineyards spread over 15 towns. The Côtes de Bourg AOC wines here are made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes producing good reds and some rosé at attractive prices.
