In northern Burgundy, just south of Auxerre  (89 Yonne. BFC) and within easy reach of the vineyards of both Chablis and Irancy is the Domaine Borgnat which offers guest house and self-catering (gîte) accommodation at their domain at Escolives, all within the walls of an 18th Century fortified vineyard!
The Domaine Borgnat offers daily wine-tasting sessions and guided tours of the 17th-century cellars and the domain. The guest house is developed in an authentic winery farm from 17th century. Old stones, timbered, great roof in small tiles… very pleasant architecture.

This may not be the most fashionable part of Burgundy, but this lends the domaine and the people great authenticity . The accommodation is comfortable and the surrounding countryside is delightful – In a small village with easy access to the Autoroute

In the heart of the Burgundy wine region you can explore the climats, a regional term that refers to a plot of land whose rich soil and natural conditions are unique. Make a detour to a cellar or museum in the region and learn all about the history, the slopes, the soil composition, the aspect and the microclimate of each of these plots.

If you go on an introductory course or a tasting course you can discover the secrets of the great names such as Corton, Montrachet, Chambertin , or more simply the AOC Pouilly-Fumé or Irancy.
