The accommodation is well-appointed with en-suite facilities and sleep 2-5 people each with a kitchen/diner. It is a great place for families -both children and adults! With an outdoor pool and free WiFi, Château de Chargé is surrounded by farmland with a private 6 acre garden, outside play area, paddock and a  donkey, goat, sheep, chicken and ducks. There are also some rows of vines and truffle trees which provide a great place to put a rug down on the grass and enjoy a good book or a relaxing time. Only 8 km or 10 minutes drive from Chinon and the local market, shops and bakeries. The Loire Valley is well known for its chateaux and many of them are within a short drive away.

Chateau de Charge

The Chateau is family-owned (the Field family, half English half French). Wine has been produced here at Château de Chargé since 1650.  Although they no longer produce and bottle their own wines, they have developed an extensive range of 40 LoireValley wines (Red, White, Rosé and Sparkling) for guests to try and buy including the remaining bottles of the last production of Château de Chargé red produced in 2005 and 2006. Nearby Chinon is well-worth a visit for its Chateau and underground wine cellars, home to the wines of Couly-Dutheil

For enthusiasts (and enthusiastic amateurs) the Chateau offers free wine tastings and the opportunity to visit the  200-year old vaulted cellars.  By arrangement,  visits to wine producers in the area accompanied by a local bilingual guide can be organised.
