Bernard Lartigue owns this 30+ acre-vineyard in Listrac (Château Mayne-Lalande) and also another 5 12 acres in Moulis (Myon l’Enclos). There is also a “second wine” Héritage du Mayne Lalande Listrac-Medoc AOC made from younger vines on the estate, as well as parcels of amazing fruit that simply didn’t fit into the profile of the ‘Grand Vin.’ The result is a rich, textured and complex triumph. The blend is of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot , Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
The Listrac-Médoc appellation, situated in the heart of the Médoc vineyards, has a special character. Situated high in the Médoc, at an altitutde of 43m, Pyreneen gravel outcrops are surrounded by limestone and clay-limestone soils. The Listrac region produces wines noted for their vigour, their finesse and their elegance. It is one of the youngest of the Bordeaux AOCs.
