A small winemaker’s Beaujolais vineyard B&B in Beaujeu (69 Rhône, ARA), sleeping up to 5 people – Domaine Phiilippe Deschamps. This small family wine domaine (domaine viticole) produces Beaujolais wines, yet despite its size (just 7 hectares/17 acres) the wines of Philippe Deschamps get recognised by one of the prestigious wine guides of France – Le Guide Hachette des Vins de France, amongst others.
You can be assured of a friendly welcome by the owner, we taste his wines and enjoy a classic French breakfast. The house offers a beautiful view from the hillside and is only a few minutes walk from Beaujeu.
Producing wines since 1984 Philippe Dechamps takes great care in growing his vines and making his wines = Beaujolais, ,Beaujolais– Villages , Beaujolais Nouveau and the little-seen sparkling Beaujolais Rosé. His nouveau is unoaked, vegetarian and vegan and as are all Beauolais wines made from the Gamay grape. He will happily show you around and explain his approach, albeit in French! One UK Stockist (Alpine Wines) describes his 2021 Beaujolais Nouveau: “Older vines and lower yields this is a seriously good Nouveau where the bright red fruits are not masked by carbonic maceration. Made by a true craftsman.”
