Pecharmant (24 Dordogne, Nouvelle Aquitaine) is one of the sub-appellations of Bergerac AC on the banks of the Dordogne to the east of Bordeaux, producing rich red wines which are highly rated.
Pecharmant AC is for red Wines made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec – strong wines excellent for serving with game, duck/goose, rich cheeses.
Owner and winemaker Fabrice makes some wonderful wines on the north bank of the river (we used to import them for Allez Vins!) which have won acclaim from the Guide Hachette des Vins de France amongst others.
Beautiful and panoramic walks amongst the vines and an opportunity to taste the wines are offered. (The owner also produces sweet Monbazillac on the other side of Bergerac.)
Quiet and peaceful with views over the vineyards and down to the River Dordogne. Near to village for bus into Bergerac (and thence train to Bordeaux?)
