Château Ricardelle – Languedoc vineyard Gites

Ch Ricardelle on Route de Guisson Narbpnne

The vineyard at Château Ricardelle offers  a variety of self-catering accommodation from a studio for 2 to a house for up to 5 people!  The location is ideal both for getting to know these wines better (you can walk to/from the tasting cellar!). You can also explore an area which is rich in wines and history – plus some great beaches!! Château Ricardelle is linked with a very rich past – the first mention of the vineyard was some 300 years ago!

A distinctive rocky outcrop near the coast and Narbonne (11 Aude, Occitanie), la Clape  is responsible for producing some of the best wines in the Languedoc. It is also the location for some rather classy self-catering vineyard accomodation at Chateau Ricardelle

The term “la Clape” comes from the occitan term clapas meaning “pile of stone”.The massif has its highest point at Pech Redon (214 metres). It is a protected conservation area whilst the vineyards are on the lower slopes , protected from the coast.

Chateau Ricardelle produces an excellent range of Coteaux du Languedoc AC la Clape and Vins de Pays d’Oc wines.  La Clape  lies between Narbonne (11 Aude, Occitanie) and the Mediterranean coast. The reds are from a typical southern blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cairgnan, but carefully vinified to produce some superb and classy wines, some ofwhich are oak-aged and unfiltered..The wines of “la Clape” are some of the best in the Languedoc, despite often sandy soils and proximity to the sea.Several wines from the Chateau received bronze medals in the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA 2017)
