A renovated and enlarged Cahors gite at Mercuès (46 Lot, Occitanie) – Mercuès Gîte
Sleeping up to 5 people, just a few miles down the river Lot from Cahors and at the bottom of the hill on which the Chateau de Mercuès overlooks the valley and vineyards is the village of Mercuès. The gîte is in the heart of the small village close to the shops (boulangerie, butcher, cash machine etc). The gîte is also close to the river and the lock.
Cahors wine is a rich red made from the Malbec grape, known locally as Auxerrois. Most of the vineyards lie to the west of the town of Cahors along the river Lot – many easily accessible from Mercuès such as the Chateau de Mercues or Chateau de Cayx.
