The chateau was constructed in 1577  and with 100 ha/250 acres of parkland and gardens it is well worth a visit, as are the limestone caves that are still in use for ageing the wine. Limestone  dominates the geology of Fronsac, St-Emilion,and Castillon.

This Grand Vin de Bordeaux is from Fronsac, where the red wines tend to be dominated by the Merlot grape. White and rosé wines are also made here.
The top cuvee (Aria) is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec
