Just off the autoroute (A9) south of Narbonne (11, Aude, Occitanie) you will find an English couple (Penny and Paul Dudson) . They have been running a Corbières vineyard since 2007 now with gites and B&B – Chateau Haute-Fontaine
From Easter until the end of August, rooms are available for Bed & Breakfast(Chambres d’Hotes). This is in a separate recently renovated house forming part of the courtyard of the château. It was formerly the accommodation for itinerant grape pickers.
The wines of Corbières are predominantly red made from Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault grapes. Some years ago these tended to be quite rustic wine. These days with skilful care and modern techniques the wines are more elegant and rich, capturing the flavours of the garrigues.
